Built to Win: The Father, The Tradesman, The Competitor

Every father, every contractor, every business leader knows the game is never fair—it’s a test of resilience. The ones who stand tallest are those who embrace failure as a lesson, competition as fuel, and pressure as a sharpening stone.

Bio

I'm completely unconventional. I knew this early on. Even now, In order for me to read something and not forget it, I need to listen to music or an audiobook - while I read. What I have done throughout my life is learn to use my supposed disadvantages and turn them into opportunities. Like others before me I have had many failures. It's how you view them though. I've turned each one into a learning curve and only risen higher. In construction, you learn how many guys on a job actually cannot read a tape measure accurately. Only then will you understand how rare it is in contracting to be someone that knows the physical side but also operationally. In construction, if someone understands one facet well, they are in high demand. However, if you understand the whole company, the business model, legal vulnerability, how to grow the organization, create sales teams, and can read the tea leaves of finance...you can work anywhere. Often being the liaison between the office, field, and sometimes client's customers. I spent the years often learning the hard way, the wrong way.

I did pick up a few things I share today with the amazing people I work with. Knowing to make the return on investment linking marketing, finance, legal, branding, the integration of both explosive & sustainable growth and being able to break it down into the general understanding is my professional focus.
